The Condon Cinema

With icy arctic winds whistling through the celluloid my old friend and man of the mountains, John Condon along with my nephew Simon are pictured rattling around on the roof of Switzerland.

They can be seen tackling the country’s highest peak, The Dufourspitze, perched on top of what looks from a distance like a giant meringue and cream extravaganza, the Monte Rosa massif. It rises 4,634 metres (15,203 feet) above the pretty town of Zermatt and is dwarfed only in the alps by Mont Blanc (4,810 m, 15,781 ft). Well done to the pair of them for bagging such a remote monster!
