Here at Dawdle Hall we are doing some emergency work to the heating system so we won’t have to freeze this winter.    One person who will be quite comfortable wandering the draughty corridors is my young nephew Alexander. I have just been leafing through some pictures of our recent jaunt to Provence -and jolly interesting they are too.

While looking round the remarkable town of Les Baux, perched dramatically on top of a craggy outcrop, we came across a whole array of vintage cars which had somehow managed to negotiate the narrow winding streets and park on the airy plateau.

Amazingly they were there to be blessed by the local priest. The unusual convoy regularly goes from church to church in that part of France seeking divine guidance from saintly satnavs in, one supposes, the hope of safely reaching the ultimate destination.
